YAGM (Young Adult in Global Mission) = Savannah Phelan
This is Savannah’s Newsletter and email communication with Lord of Life. I will be updating it as they come in.
Joom Reup Sooeh!
I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know that I have made it safe and sound to Cambodia! After a powerful week of orientation in Chicago, filled with conversation, stories, words of advice, new friendships and comforting embraces my YAGM Cambodia cohort and I boarded a plane on Wednesday morning to South East Asia. At 11:30pm the next day we were greeted by our new coordinators, Jen and Matt, and are now three days into our in-country orientation here in Phnom Penh. Even though I have already sweated more in the last few days than I fully realized was possible, I am so unbelievably excited to be here and cannot wait to learn more about this country and my new community in the weeks and months to come. Already we have all experienced such incredible hospitality from those we have met and for that I am so thankful and comforted!
In addition to letting you know I have arrived, I also wanted to thank you all once again for the incredible support and love you have all shown me throughout this process. I cannot stress enough how much it means to me to have a whole community from back home offering up their support and encouragement as I take part in this journey here in Cambodia. I look forward to sharing more of my experiences with you throughout the coming year! If you ever have any questions for me, requests for blog posts/newsletters or just want to catch up, please reach out to me, I would love to hear from you! Thanks again and take care!
