Small Group Ministry

The definition of a Small Group is:

An intentional meeting of  6-12 people meeting at least 2times a month.

Care & Share

Care and Share is a prayer and discussion group. We  begin and end in prayer. Our discussions vary from prayer needs to world issues and anything in between.  All discussions are voluntary and confidential.  All speakers and listeners are respected.

Our next two meetings are Monday February 13th and Monday February 27th at 1:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall.  Please call Pam Mangan or Margie Worcester for  information.  We do welcome new members!

 Praying Moms, Powerful Moms!

AWe have a small group just for Moms.  The book Power of a Praying Parent by  S. Omartian is our guide as we  discuss the "Awesome Power" that comes with surrendering specific prayers to the greatest parent of all - our Heavenly Father!  Our time together is for fellowship and sharing with other LoL Moms.  We meet at Frost Me Sweet in Richland on the Parkway at 7:30 on the 2nd & 4th       Mondays of the month.  If interested contact Marcie Appel

Green Team

Manufacturers love plastic bottles: they are  lightweight, sturdy, and easy to ship.  Consumers love plastic bottles: they are unbreakable, easy to carry, and relatively inexpensive.  But the very durability that   consumers and manufacturers love can cause serious environmental issues.  Most consumers intend to       recycle, but on a hike, at work, or at the gym, a trash can is usually much easier to find than a recycle bin.  Each year approximately 5.6 BILLION bottles are produced- that's enough to stretch around the earth 29 times!!!  Of those bottles, only about 28% are recycled-the rest end up in landfills-or worse-in the oceans.  The bottles in the landfill degrade very slowly: a bottle will last  hundreds of years.  Bottles in the ocean don't break down all at once, they break  down in segments, resulting in smaller pieces being consumed by and harming animals and many micro-organisms .  Another problem is that many consumers consistently reuse plastic bottles.  Sounds like a good idea  right?  Unfortunately, experts disagree on how many times a bottle can  be reused and remain safe. (some experts say that plastic # 1 bottles should never be reused), but all agree that bottles- even those carefully washed- are breeding grounds for    bacteria-and the more a bottle is reused the more likely it will pose a healthy hazard.  (info from Earth911.com and wisegeek.com)   So if you use plastic bottles, take the extra effort and time and    recycle!!!  Recycling will save energy and lessen the build up in landfills.  A better solution is to stop-or significantly reduce- you use of plastic  bottles.

Are you interested in environmental issues?  Want to get together with others that are interested in  reducing our carbon footprint on this earth?  Want to help make your church and community more environmentally friendly?  Consider joining LOL's Green Team.  We meet on the second and fourth     Mondays of each month.  If you are interested, contact Charlene or Heidi .

Inspired Group

The Inspired Group will be reading and discussing  Richard Rohr’s book “Falling Upward, A spirituality for the two halves of life”. The group meets on the first and third Mondays of each month at Rusty Morse’s house.
